If your drivers of dangerous goods
(hazardous goods) come within scope of the UK CDG (Carriage of
Dangerous Goods
Regulations), you
will need to have or be a DGSA (Dangerous Goods
Safety Advisor). This DGSA regulation applies to all road transport
companies.
DGSA training required by the UK CDG
can be either in the classroom or at home
and it involves DGSA exams set by SQA (The Scottish Qualifications
Authority). The
UK Carriage of dangerous goods regulations (CDG) invoke the
requirements of ADR
dangerous goods regulations.
Hazardous
(dangerous) goods can be carried in some kind of package. The majority
can be carried
in a road tanker (Hazchem) also.
Special
Offer:
Drivers living over 90 miles
from Taunton
are offered a £150 discount on DGSA classroom
training (Conditions
apply). DGSA exams are charged at around £267 by the
SQA. Mandatory
legislation including ADR and the UK CDG is required.
For further information or to book
your course, go to DGSA
training course.
DGSA
training is usually for all 9 ADR classes of dangerous goods as
this gives
the easiest and simplest SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority) DGSA set of
exams. The exams are named Core, Road and Classes and are sat
on the same
day. The DGSA training certificate lasts 5 years.
If
you wish home study, you can study at your leisure. We will
supply the
DGSA training material in the form of manuals accompanied by audio CDs
plus
DVDs.
DGSA
classroom courses are carried out as close to the exam as possible.
'New'
Dangerous Goods Safety Advisers may take an initial DGSA training
course
relating to the carriage of dangerous goods & which lasts up to
5 days
depending on your confidence level.
Existing
Dangerous Goods Safety Advisors take DGSA 'refresher' training relating
to the
carriage of dangerous goods & which lasts for up to 4 days
depending on
your confidence level.
Accommodation is possible during the
DGSA training and there is ample parking. SQA exams are sat at the SQA
DGSA centre
nearest to you (Find DGSA exam venues on the SQA site).
